Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 5

This morning we crossed another time zone.  We had breakfast on the Lido Deck and found nutella crepes for Dane.
Holland America had a surprise in the room for Allan this morning.

Our morning sessions were on the mammals of Alaska and Glaciers. Then, this afternoon we docked at Juneau and had our first opportunity to set foot on Alaskan soil!

We took a walk through downtown Juneau and checked out some of the tourist shops.  We found some cool art work/murals around.
It was raining pretty good. We brought our goodies to the ship before meeting up with our Science at Sea group for whale watching!

It was a pretty rainy afternoon, but we were dressed and ready for the weather!

We were fortunate to see a number of humpack whales today.

We also saw salmon jumping and some stellar sea lions.

We had dinner at the Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island before heading back to Juneau and boarding the ship.

We saw a number of bald eagles and we also saw a brown bear from the bus as we drove from the dock back to the cruise ship.

We celebrated Allan's birthday with some fancy drinks and pizza before bed. Tomorrow we venture to Skagway!
