Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 9

Today was a day at Sea. We started the day with a presentation about Global Warming and how it is impacting Alaska. There was a really good group discussion that followed. 
Then in the afternoon Steve put on a great show for us and talked about the connections and experiences we made and reminded us about how important it is to bring that back to our kids. 
It was another #bestdayever

We went to dinner in the dining room and caught a few more photos 
A huge shout out to the whole team for making this an amazing professional development opportunity. 
Including all of the dinner time magic tricks. 
Then... after dinner, we sat on our balcony and watched a pod of orca hunting near the shore. They were too far away for good photos, but we were excited to see them!

Tomorrow we start the land portion of our vacation in Vancouver!

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
