On the Hunt For Dinosaurs Once Again! Day 2

This morning started with some rain in Superior, Wisconsin. We had breakfast at hotel and then started our trek further west.

Our first stop was in Perham, Minnesota. We didn't know that it was the self proclaimed turtle racing capital of the world. The troll portal was in a small pocket park that had some really cool murals and artistic turtles.

After finding the portal, we continued our journey west with a stop to see Jacob Everear. He is troll number 134 made by Thomas Dambo. If you are not familiar with him, he is a Danish artist who makes sculptures out of reclaimed wood. His trolls have become quite popular all over the world. You can learn more on his website here. While we were in the area, we found out that Frazee is also the home of the World's Largest Turkey, so of course we had to stop there first.

Today's trolls are part of Project 412 in the greater Detroit Lakes area. We did not see all of the trolls or portals today, but we did manage to see 4 of them and one portal.

After our troll adventure, we continued west to Fargo, with a quick stop at Sonic for dinner and then a short stop in Jamestown to see the world's largest buffalo. We also saw some of the herd, but we did not see any of the white buffalo.

We finished the night off with a little bit more driving and settled in for the night in Bismarck, North Dakota.  We also had the privilege of listening to the beginning of Steven's crash course on paleontology.
