On the Hunt For Dinosaurs Once Again! Day 1





It is late and I don't want to fight with the editing of photos to put this one upright. Turn your head  until I can fix it :). 

The sky was amazing on our drive after work tonight. We got a little bit of a late start with closing the summer program today but made it to Superior, Wisconsin. 

Tomorrow we find a few trolls and head further west.

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Treasure Hunting - Day 9

  The last day of our adventure is always bittersweet. Generally, we are ready for our own beds, but not quite ready to leave our travels. We started our morning in Dubuque and quickly made our way to Madison.  We found a Geology Museum at the University there that we had never been to. Although it was a smaller museum, it had quite a few specimens of interest.  After our short stop in Madison, we made our way to Appleton. We had planned on quite a bit of shopping, but the rain and the crazy amount of traffic changed our minds. We stopped at a few places and then we were back on the road.  Of course, we made a quick stop in Marinette to say a quick hi to Bigfoot and stock up on some cheese. Last night, I ordered the photos for our 4 new states this trip so that they would be ready to pick up from Walgreens when we rolled into town :). 41 states down, 9 more to go! Treasure Hunting- Day 3

A Pyramid and 6 Trolls Oh, My! We grabbed some breakfast at the hotel and hit the road running. We were about 2 hours away from our first stop, The Bass ProShop Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee.  We took the elevator up to the top... It was pretty awesome. We spent some time wandering the shop before heading to our next stop, the Memphis Botanical Gardens.  I am not sure if you have heard about Thomas Dambo, but he is a Danish artist who recycles materials into Troll Sculptures. We have one in the U.P. (Ben2ny the Beardfisher).  The botanical garden in Memphis has 6 trolls on  display until May 21, 2025.  Ronya Redeye Rosa Sunfinger Kamma Can Sofus Lotus Ibbi Pip Basse Buller Then, we hit the road, venturing into 2 new to us states!  We will be exploring more in both states (Mississippi and Louisiana) over the next few days as our home base is right near their border.
