Day 23: Happy Birthday Allan!!!! (Still in Vegas!)

We started off our day rather relaxed.... chillin' in our room. Then Dane and I went for a swim at the pool where we met up with Jen, Jay, Logan, and Jonas. Dane had a blast in the pool. He even decided to dunk under a couple of times and to work on learning how to float on his back. It was big fun!

This afternoon Dane played the last of his quarters, and turned in his tickets! 2700!!!! He was extremely happy with his loot! He chose a HUGE teddy bear, a motorcycle, a mini speed racer, and a bear pouch.

We met back up with the Laursens for dinner at the Buffet.. and then made our way down the strip. We had plans to see the Pirate Show at Treasure Island, but we had quite a wait when we arrived and decided to continue to the Bellagio for the fountain and light show. It was a good thing we did, as we found out later that the 8:30 showing at Treasure Island had been cancelled. The Laursen's had to leave after the fountain show, and we decided to take in the later showing at Treasure Island. We walked back picking up a few final gifts at the shops that were open and headed back to our hotel to pack up...... On the road again tomorrow....

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
