Day 14: Exploring Portland!!









We made pancakes for breakfast on a real stove today!!! And then after we were up and moving, made our way to the Portland Zoo..... Which turned out to be nearly a 5 hour experience! The Zoo had a 35 minute train ride, and a dinosaur exhibit. Dane said that the train ride was his favorite. It was a rather large zoo, and super busy!!!

After the zoo, we called Howard and Paloma to meet up with us at Chuck E. Cheese. It was their first experience with the restaurant, and some how, I don't believe that it will be their last. We had pizza and played a ton of games. Dane had just as much fun exploring their tunnels on the ceiling as he did playing the actual games. He walked out with over 1000 tickets when all was said and done... and now he has a new Chuck E Cheese playground ball.

Again, we talked the night away! Especially Allan and Howard...

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
