On the Road Again - Day One

 We're on the road again! 
 Today was day one of our 2011 Road Trip Adventure! 
I think this is going to go down in our history as the "Great Lakes Tour!" 

Today, we drove to Mackinac City. Can you guess where we had lunch?
Then, before hitting the road again, it was time for some putt putt golf!
Dane managed TWO hole-in-ones!
He was really rockin' the course!
However, Allan managed to beat him by 1 point!
 Let's just say, as far as I was concerned, keeping score was not necessary!
We had a great first day! A lot of driving, and now for a bit of rest and relaxation!

Oh I do love a good road trip! While I have nooooo idea where you would had lunch I do know that I totally agree with YOU Amy ... Putt Putt scoring is SOOOO not necessary ... unless you're winning of course!!!

Seems as if Dane is becoming quite the Putt Putt professional. I'll have to dust off my skills so I can have a chance!

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
