Niagara Falls

We made it to Niagara Falls. Today has been an adventure. We started off our morning in Port Huron...
We made sure to stop at the beach to dip our toes into Lake Huron before loading up and entering Canada!

CANADA!

It has been quite an eventful day. We ended up with a flat tire on our way to Niagara Falls. I think we were about 30 kilometers away.  Thank goodness we were equipped with a spare!  Our hotel experience has been quite interesting as well. We are on our third room..... Third time is a charm? I certainly hope so! I'm actually sitting in the lobby typing this up though because the wireless is not working in the room. (At least there is power in this one... and air conditioning....) We were supposed to stay here three nights, but we are now checking out first thing in the morning.  We really didn't let the bumps in the road stop us from having a great day though!
We had dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe. 
We saw the "whirlpool" north of the falls...
 Allan beat us at putt putt golf AGAIN!
 This time, the course was ruled by dinosaurs! (AND... I didn't have the highest score!)
We spent our evening walking along the falls.

The photos do not do this justice... but starting at about 9 pm... there was a laser show on the falls.

Then, came the fireworks!


Between the mist and the smoke from the fireworks.... you could barely see the falls! 
It was still gorgeous ;).

Now for a good night's sleep before a busy day tomorrow.

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
