Cleveland to Cambridge

Blogger is back! YEAH!

(Instead of starting from a couple of days ago, I am going to do today's post and then work backwards to update you all. I will schedule the older posts for the days that they were supposed to be. So, if you want to read the past couple of days, you will have to click on "older post." )

We woke up this morning in Richfield, Ohio and headed north to Cleveland to visit the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
The Museum of Natural History is right next door to the Art Museum and there was a "globe" exhibition throughout the area where various artists created worlds to bring awareness for various issues. This one features "unplugged" play. I forget exactly how much power Americans use for "play"in a year, but the number was unreal!
Dane was super excited to get to the dinosaur exhibit! 
He really enjoyed all of the animal exhibits and small dioramas.
They also had a great discovery zone play area where Dane and I had a dinosaur face off. I was the herbivores, he was the carnivores. I had at least three times as many dinosaurs as he did. However, he still managed to eat every last one of my dinosaurs. IMAGINE THAT!
There was a HUGE collection of beetles. We found this one quite amusing.
They also have an outdoor area with live animals---- BONUS!
 Dane's favorite live animal was a bobcat.

After the Museum of Natural History, we decided to go to the Great Lakes Science Center.
If you are ever in or around the Cleveland area this place is a must! We had so much fun playing! 
(We stayed until they closed and could have easily played for hours more....)

Here is the map from google maps of where we traveled today. After our time in Cleveland, we opted to drive south as far as Cambridge.  Dane was excited to find a semi-truck with a trailer full of pigs along the way. He insisted that one of them way staring right at him :).

We plan on going to The Wilds in Cumberland tomorrow and then up to Columbus to visit the zoo the following day.

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section... The random calls of the gorillas and the chimps filled the air... One was swinging above us.... Dane was quite certain he/she was trying to poop in our food. We were on constant guar...
