Treasure Hunting - Day 4


Day 4 started off with a thunderstorm. We hung out a little longer at the hotel to let it pass. We traveled down the coast from Louisiana to Gulfport, Mississippi. Being that it was still raining pretty good, we opted for an indoor adventure at the Mississippi Aquarium. 


We spent quite a bit of time at the top of the pool, in the tunnel, and on the lower level of the tank. It continued to rain outside for quite some time, so we enjoyed the fish, turtles, sharks, and rays. 







After the aquarium, we headed to a restaurant on the Gulf, Felix's. 


We have a social media game we play when we are on vacation...I post all of our dishes and our friends and family get to guess, Who Ate What??? Here is our Gulfport, Mississippi Edition:





After lunch, the sun started to come out! So on our drive back, we stopped at one of the Gulf beaches: 




Then, we decided to check out a local park to stretch our legs. This place used to be a Boy Scout Camp, and being that Dane is an Eagle Scout, we thought it might be kind of cool... we were right. The trees were amazing!!! My phone died, so I didn't get a ton of photos... but here are a couple...






It was a great day to turn 48!

On to more adventures tomorrow!

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Dane has been busy with his art on this trip " To explain the last one..  On our first night in Vancouver we were given a welcome letter at the Pan Pacific that gave us contact information with who to call of we needed anything, including help finding lost pet goats :).  This was a truly remarkable experience.
