Labor Day Dino Dig Day 4

Today we started our trek home. We said goodbye to Glendive for this time and drove across North Dakota and into Minnesota. 
Our first stop this morning was Udderly Cool-   Salem Sue. She is a giant roadaide cow. We visited her a few years ago and wanted to stop again ;). 
Then, we made our way to Bismarck, North Dakota to the North Dakota Heritage Museum. We were impressed! We spent a lot longer at the museum than we anticipated. 
One of the exhibits was of a mummified dinosaur! "Dakota" is a juvenile Edmontosaurus. 
After our dinosaur look alike contest in Glendive, we opted for a fish look alike contest in Bismarck. 
We grabbed a quick bite to eat, and then we were off again.... with a short stop in Jamestown to see the world's largest Buffalo. 
The live buffalo were difficult to see. With the heat, we thought perhaps they were in the trees/shade. 

Then we drove to Park Rapids for the night. Tomorrow we drive home.

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 2

(not our cruise ship)  Hello Vancouver!  (Our view from our hotel last night) We slept in this morning. After yesterday's long day of travel and the time change for us, today was a much needed day to take it easy. We booked this "extra day" as a buffer to make sure we made it here in time if there were any travel snaffoos. Luckily, we mad eit here on time with no issues!  Then we made our way into the city to the Pan Pacific Hotel.  Our view here is a little bit different ;). Our conference will kick off here tomorrow before we board the ship. We are on the 20th floor and the view is gorgeous!  We spent the afternoon wandering around in Vancouver. We found an art museum, and a comic book/ anime store!  Our hotel is amazing and right on the water....  We took a late afternoon rest at the hotel and went venturing out on the pier before dinner.  (the rooftop pool area on level 8 of our hotel. Day 1

Well... .we made it to Minnesota. Today was mostly a day of driving. We drove south through Wisconsin and west to Bloomington. Dane had fun signaling the truckers to honk, and we managed to get 8 trucks to respond. A good portion of the trip I sat in the back with Dane, so with our tinted windows, it was difficult for them to see our signals. We were happy to pass through Wisconsin, as Dane quickly realized that it continually smells of something as we passed all of the farms.... Allan was quite intrigued by the landscape, rolling hills and lots of silos....... (you can connect the dots...) We arrived into Minnesota a bit later than planned, but that was okay. We checked into our hotel and then we were off to the Mall of America.... We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, and we sat in the primate section...
