Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 9

Today was a day at Sea. We started the day with a presentation about Global Warming and how it is impacting Alaska. There was a really good group discussion that followed.  Then in the afternoon Steve put on a great show for us and talked about the connections and experiences we made and reminded us about how important it is to bring that back to our kids.  It was another #bestdayever We went to dinner in the dining room and caught a few more photos  A huge shout out to the whole team for making this an amazing professional development opportunity.  Including all of the dinner time magic tricks.  Then... after dinner, we sat on our balcony and watched a pod of orca hunting near the shore. They were too far away for good photos, but we were excited to see them! Tomorrow we start the land portion of our vacation in Vancouver!

Cruisin' to Alaska & Visiting Vancouver- Day 13

! Today's adventure was the Vandusen Botanical Garden.  Dane got us through the maze. We saw a lot of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. In addition to ducks, fish, and a coyote.  After the gardens we checked out a few anime shops and then headed to our hotel to relax before our travel home tomorrow.

On the Hunt For Dinosaurs Once Again! Day 8

We started this morning out in Kemmerer, Wyoming just a little ways from the Fossil Lake Safari Quarry.  We spent 4 hours with a chisel and a hammer looking through chunks of limestone to find prehistoric fossils of fish! There was the possibility of finding something else, but we only found fish today. It was super cool!  After we were done "fishing" there were saws for us to cut down the fossils we found into more manageable pieces.  Then, we drove through a good section of Wyoming.... We stopped for an overlook and photo op at the Red Canyon. It was absolutely stunning. Photos really do not do it justice. The landscape on our drive was amazing.  We saw a lot of cows today, and there were even some goats outside the restaurant we stopped at for dinner!
